Frontend Engineer (GIS & Data Visualization)

About the role

We are looking for a Mid-to-Senior Frontend Engineer who will design and build intuitive, data-driven web applications focused on geospatial visualisation. You will translate complex operational and location-based data into interactive maps, dashboards and user-friendly interfaces while ensuring high performance and accessibility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain large-scale interactive maps with layer controls, colour-coding and manual overrides.
• Build operational dashboards that turn complex data sets into clear, actionable visualisations.
• Implement WCAG 2.1 AA compliant front-end experiences and support accessibility testing throughout development.
• Collaborate with the delivery team using documented designs, code reviews, Git-based workflows and ticket-driven processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and code quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to maintain at least 4 hours of daily overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.

Required skills

• Modern JavaScript frameworks – preferably React or Angular.
• Web-mapping libraries such as ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, MapLibre, Leaflet or Google Maps.
• Experience with data visualisation and dashboard creation.
• Implementation of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code).
