CSA Senior Designer

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a CSA Senior Designer to join its Mining & Metals team in Santiago. The role supports the development of work plans, schedules, material estimates and design deliverables to meet project milestones for critical mineral extraction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate designers and drafters in creating layouts, study drawings, detailed 2‑D and 3‑D CAD models, and construction drawings.
• Prepare or assist with material requisitions and bid evaluations.
• Monitor and verify work compliance with approved design standards to ensure quality, safety and cost‑effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain design and drafting procedures to standardize effort.
• Conduct jobsite visits as needed to resolve issues and interpret drawings.
• Review and define engineering scope changes for project management.
• Generate progress reports for project and discipline use.
• Maintain up‑to‑date skills in Bechtel standard computer tools.

Required profile

• Broad knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, drawing checking, graphic arts, and 2‑D/3‑D CAD.
• Experience supporting work‑plan development, material quantity estimation and staffing needs.
• Ability to work within a medium‑size design group and collaborate across disciplines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design standards.
