Assistant Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position at Hotel Mae Spa in Maitencillo. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will help drive daily hotel and spa operations, ensuring guests receive high‑quality service and a seamless experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee front‑desk activities, including guest check‑in, check‑out and issue resolution.
• Coordinate schedules and daily tasks with housekeeping, spa, and maintenance teams.
• Monitor occupancy, reservations, and basic financial/operational metrics.
• Supervise team members on shift, guide them on policies, and support training of new staff.
• Assist with local marketing initiatives and promote hotel and spa services.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and security standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in hospitality operations, preferably in hotels, resorts or spa environments.
• Prior supervisory or team‑lead responsibilities.
• Strong customer‑service, conflict‑resolution and guest‑relationship skills.
• Ability to coordinate schedules, manage daily operations and pay attention to detail in a fast‑paced setting.
• Basic understanding of front‑desk processes and reservations; familiarity with a property management system is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish; conversational English strongly preferred.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Commitment to an inclusive, respectful workplace and professional appearance.
• Post‑secondary education in hospitality management or equivalent experience is preferred.
