Consultant Dermatologist (NHS Fife)

About the role

The NHS Fife health board is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Dermatologist to join a multidisciplinary team delivering skin cancer services, general dermatology, and head‑and‑neck surgery across Victoria Hospital (Kirkcaldy) and Queen Margaret Hospital (Dunfermline).

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist skin cancer treatment and dermatological surgery in two dedicated treatment centres.
• Run general dermatology clinics and a range of specialist clinics including paediatric, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, hair and nail disorders, psoriasis, transplant surveillance, and female dermatoses.
• Collaborate with dermatology nurses, ANPs, maxillofacial and plastic surgery teams, and local histopathologists.
• Contribute to research activities with the Fife R&D department and the Academic Department of Dermatology in Edinburgh.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and support nurse‑led services such as isotretinoin, biologic monitoring, and chronic skin disease management.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry).
• Portfolio Pathway applicants must hold a valid Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration before applying for a substantive post.
• Non‑UK doctors must demonstrate equivalent training.
• Willingness to consider part‑time or job‑share arrangements and adherence to NHS Fife family‑friendly policies.
