Consultant Dermatologist – NHS Fife

About the role

The NHS Fife Dermatology Service is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Dermatologist to join a team of seven consultants across Victoria Hospital (Kirkcaldy) and Queen Margaret Hospital (Dunfermline). The role involves delivering skin‑cancer services, general dermatology, and head‑and‑neck surgery within two dedicated treatment centres.

Key responsibilities

• Provide skin‑cancer diagnosis, treatment and surgical management.
• Run general dermatology clinics and specialist clinics (paediatric, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, hair & nail disorders, psoriasis, transplant surveillance, female dermatoses).
• Perform dermatological surgery, including head‑and‑neck procedures.
• Supervise nurse‑led services such as isotretinoin, biologic monitoring, iontophoresis, Botox and cryotherapy.
• Collaborate with maxillofacial and plastic surgery teams and attend monthly histopathology meetings.
• Contribute to research and academic activities with the University of Edinburgh Dermatology department.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT or within 6 months of entry).
• Experience in UK specialist dermatology training; Portfolio Pathway applicants must hold a CESR award.
• Commitment to high‑quality patient care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
