Director, Medical Affairs – Americas

About the role

The Director, Medical Affairs – Americas leads the medical affairs function for DePuy Synthes across Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Canada and other LATAM markets. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures safe, compliant, and effective generation and communication of scientific and clinical evidence for orthopedic products.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Medical Affairs across the Americas region.
• Develop and execute medical strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Oversee evidence generation, clinical studies, and scientific communication.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, regulatory, and commercial functions.
• Represent DePuy Synthes with external stakeholders, such as key opinion leaders and health authorities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a health‑related discipline (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in medical affairs within the orthopedics or medical device sector.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi‑country teams.
• Strong understanding of scientific evidence generation and regulatory requirements.
