Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests onboard, ensuring every interaction enhances satisfaction. You will actively listen, address concerns, and resolve issues while maintaining a positive, humorous demeanor.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to guest inquiries and provide timely assistance to resolve issues.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates, and process payments accurately.
• Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Maintain organized records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for a 5‑6 month period.
• Friendly, people‑oriented, with a strong sense of humor and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Cash handling and knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
• Operation of basic office equipment (telephone, computer, copier).
• Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish).
