About the role
This fixed‑term position (12 months) provides high‑level personal secretarial and administrative support to the manager of Cancer Services at NHS Lanarkshire. The role ensures the smooth operation of the management office, handling correspondence, scheduling and meeting logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive secretarial assistance, including typing letters, minutes, memos, PowerPoint presentations, mail‑shots, reports and Excel spreadsheets.
- Manage the manager’s diary, arrange meetings at Director/Divisional/Hospital Management Team level and coordinate venues, equipment and catering.
- Handle the manager’s email system, prioritising urgent information and forwarding it to relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure deadlines are met.
Required profile
- HNC/SVQIII in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience as a Management Secretary.
- Proficient use of software systems and advanced keyboard skills.
