About the role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with real‑estate experience to join Howard Financial’s back‑office team. The role is contract‑based and supports multiple high‑growth clients by delivering accurate month‑end close, reporting and financial analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle accounting for several clients, including AP/AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Prepare, review and analyse monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations, addressing discrepancies proactively.
- Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as required.
- Support tax compliance by preparing documentation, liaising with external tax advisors and assisting audit requests.
- Build and maintain relationships with client stakeholders, providing insights to improve financial operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance accuracy and scalability.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real‑estate sector.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- Fluent English (B2+) and comfortable communicating with high‑profile clients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
- Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday‑Friday.
