Senior DevOps Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve their self-hosted infrastructure. The role focuses on improving reliability, automating processes, and supporting a fast-growing engineering team in a startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the entire infrastructure and deployment environments.
• Audit, redesign and automate the current hosting and deployment architecture using IaC tools.
• Enhance scalability, reliability and operational efficiency of services.
• Hardening of Linux servers, implementation of security best practices and networking/VPN configuration.
• Manage Docker-based environments, CI/CD pipelines and automated backup/recovery for PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Build monitoring, alerting and centralized logging solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline development and release workflows.

Required profile

• Senior-level experience in DevOps, infrastructure or SRE.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively identify improvements.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Docker, Docker Compose and container networking.
• Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, Ansible, scripting.
• CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation.
• Linux server hardening and security practices.
• Networking, VPN configuration and secure internal communication.
• PostgreSQL and Redis administration.
• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Uptime Kuma.
• Familiarity with self-hosted PaaS platforms (Coolify, Dokku, CapRover) and exposure to Kubernetes.

What we offer

• Contractor model paid in USD.
• Full-time schedule Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑6 pm CET with at least 4 hours overlap.
• Remote work from any location in Latin America.
