Structural Designer / BIM Modeler

About the role

GHD is seeking a motivated Structural Designer/BIM Modeler to join its Civil and Structural Engineering team. You will provide consultancy services and develop engineering solutions for infrastructure, industry, and mining projects across multiple phases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial and infrastructure projects, producing sketches, drawings and 3D models.
• Apply design principles, technical drafting and BIM methodology in line with GHD procedures and project specifications.
• Support and train less‑experienced drafters and modelers, and coordinate drafting/modeling tasks assigned by senior staff.
• Assist with general drafting/modeling duties and contribute to report preparation.
• Participate in site visits to gather background information, assess existing structures and survey infrastructure.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering deliverables that meet client expectations.

Required profile

• Degree in Technical Drafter or a related field.
• Intermediate English (B1+) – upper‑intermediate (B2+) preferred.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in steel/concrete structural design, drafting and modelling.
• Experience in mining projects (≥3 years) and industrial infrastructure is preferred.
• Exposure to subway/railway, bridge or port structures is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIM platforms and methodology.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and ACC.
• Intermediate proficiency in Civil3D (desired).
• Experience handling point‑cloud data (desired).
