Technical Specialist – Santiago, Chile

About the role

InterSystems is seeking a Technical Specialist to join its Santiago office. The role involves on‑site software development, technical support, and training for clients across Chile and LATAM, with travel to hospitals, laboratories and implementation partners as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients or business analysts on enhancement requests and new/modified reports.
• Advise and assist Project Managers during implementations.
• Manage resolution of acceptance issues before and after go‑live.
• Develop and support customisations such as JavaScript, interfaces, reports, extracts, data migration, upgrades and conversions.
• Provide troubleshooting and performance analysis for related areas.
• Support and test InterSystems utilities (patching tools, version control, data migration, print services).
• Produce technical documentation (reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge‑base articles, specifications).
• Participate in on‑site technical implementations and 24‑hour extended support periods.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently and within multicultural teams.
• Strong client‑focused communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to work outside regular office hours and travel internationally.

Required skills

• Web languages: JavaScript, HTML.
• Programming languages: Java, C++, PHP, Python.
• SQL, data modelling, data analysis and database methodologies.
• Internet/Intranet concepts.
• Health information system integration, preferably HL7/FHIR.
• Technical documentation authoring.
• Experience with patching tools, version control, data migration and print services.
