Air Import Agent

About the role

Expeditors is seeking an Air Import Agent to join its Air Import Department. The role focuses on ensuring the timely and accurate movement of freight and information while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage smooth and timely freight process flow for import shipments.
• Enter accurate data into the operating system and track Air Import files.
• Use daily workflows to monitor shipments and ensure on‑time delivery to customers.
• Prepare and send required documents to customers or brokers for customs clearance.
• Handle client and service provider billing accurately and promptly.
• Communicate with customers, airlines, trucking companies and other suppliers to meet service standards.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, operational standards and external regulations.
• Respond to internal and external emails and requests in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Relevant experience or training in air import logistics, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive, organized and able to work independently.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
• IATA certification preferred.
