Associate Design Engineer III

About the role

Fluor is seeking an Associate Design Engineer III to apply basic design engineering principles on government‑contracted projects. The role supports project leads, evaluates standard engineering techniques, and contributes to delivering cost‑effective solutions for a variety of disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques to routine assignments and develop cost‑competitive project solutions.
• Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance and resolve discrepancies.
• Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Adhere to industry codes, standards, and internal procedures.
• Analyze problems, make independent recommendations, and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Support the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Accredited four‑year engineering degree (or global equivalent) and at least two years of relevant experience.
• Engineer‑in‑Training status or equivalent professional certification where required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
