Backend Engineer (Remote Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services for our digital products. This fully remote contract position offers the chance to work with a talented engineering team and shape core technology infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose innovative solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of proven backend development experience.
• Strong background in designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Solid understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced remote team.
