Controls and SCADA Engineering Manager

About the role

Fluence is looking for a Controls & SCADA Engineering Manager to lead its Solution Engineering team across the Americas. The manager will provide technical authority, guide project delivery, and ensure scalable, reliable controls and network architectures for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and utility‑scale power plant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical authority and escalation point for controls, SCADA, industrial networking, and OT system integration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and delivery oversight for multiple concurrent energy storage projects, ensuring alignment with Fluence standards.
• Own governance of Fluence OS (FOS) controls and network solutions, including EMS, PLCs, HMIs, data acquisition platforms, and ICS/OT architectures.
• Guide development and maintenance of controls architectures, functional descriptions, and integration strategies for BESS functionality.
• Oversee creation and validation of controls specifications, points lists, and data integration mappings (e.g., OPC, telemetry interfaces) to meet customer monitoring and control requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading controls and SCADA engineering teams in the energy storage or utility‑scale power sector.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle management from concept through commissioning and handover.
• Ability to coordinate with internal engineering disciplines, EPC partners, and external contractors.
• Excellent technical governance and quality assurance skills.
