Cost Engineering Support (1-3 Years Experience)

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Cost Engineering Support professional to provide administrative, financial and project controls support for large-scale capital projects. The role helps maintain the integrity of project finances, contract administration, risk management, invoice processing and reporting, so that accurate and timely information is available to project teams and stakeholders. It works closely with Cost Managers, Project Managers, contractors, vendors and client representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Contracts and change management: maintain tracking logs for contracts, funding allocations, potential change orders and change orders; initiate and coordinate approvals; perform budget and funding audits; resolve workflow bottlenecks; support contract administration and documentation.
• Risk and issue tracking: take part in budget and cost review meetings, log and assess risks in project management systems, track defects and equipment issues, keep risk registers up to date and produce weekly risk status reports.
• Invoices and payments: coordinate contractors, consultants and vendors on timely submissions, verify billing against contracts and milestones, monitor approval workflows, follow up on delays, resolve discrepancies and keep accurate financial records.
• Project closeout: manage closeout dashboards, execute financial and administrative closeout, reconcile and archive contracts, invoices and change orders, and support lessons learned.
• Reporting and dashboards: prepare weekly and monthly status reports, develop and maintain dashboards on project financial performance, audit data across systems and support leadership with performance reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering support, contract administration, project administration, finance, procurement or a related field.
• Experience supporting large capital projects, construction, engineering, infrastructure, mining, energy or industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Experience with contract management, invoice processing, budgeting and reporting.
