Cybersecurity Analyst – Data Security

About the role

The Cybersecurity Analyst – Data Security is a mid‑level position responsible for monitoring, triaging, investigating and responding to data security threats across the enterprise. Working remotely from the Dominican Republic, the analyst helps improve Jostens’ data security posture by operating and enhancing key security platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and triage alerts generated by data security platforms such as Microsoft Purview and Varonis, distinguishing suspicious activity from normal business operations.
• Investigate potential data loss, exfiltration, abnormal user behavior, privileged account misuse and ransomware‑like activity.
• Correlate findings across data security, identity, endpoint, email and other monitoring sources to assess severity and business impact.
• Coordinate containment, escalation and response actions with Cybersecurity Operations, Identity and Access Management, Infrastructure, legal and managed detection providers.
• Support day‑to‑day operations of data security platforms, tune detections, reduce false positives and configure enhancements.
• Use platform findings to discover and classify sensitive data, analyze access patterns and prioritize remediation.
• Create and track remediation tickets in Jira, working with IT administrators and data owners to close findings.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with proven experience in data security monitoring, investigation and incident response.
• Strong analytical skills to assess alerts, determine business impact and drive appropriate actions.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Cybersecurity Operations, IAM, Infrastructure, Legal and business owners.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting incidents and coordinating remediation efforts.
