Engineering Manager – Growth Foundations

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Growth Foundations team, which builds the AI‑native Growth Engine powering Kraken’s acquisition and engagement platforms. You will guide a cross‑functional group of engineers, stay hands‑on in the codebase, and deliver production‑grade features that reach millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a distributed team delivering growth‑critical systems and tools.
• Collaborate daily with Product and Design to define scope, set priorities and ensure seamless execution.
• Maintain clear expectations, realistic estimates and transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on architecture and implementation decisions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, trust and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering high‑quality results.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a focus on coaching, clarity and empowerment.
• Solid backend technical foundation and a track record as an individual contributor.
• Experience working in distributed, remote‑first environments.

Required skills

• Modern programming languages such as TypeScript, Rust, Go or Python.
• Daily use of AI‑driven development tools to boost productivity.
• Backend engineering and system design expertise.
