Head Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Accountant to own the finance function of a high‑growth US company, working remotely from LATAM. This senior, hands‑on position is responsible for the accuracy of financials, close, audit, controls, and strategic finance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close, ensuring calendar adherence, quality output and cycle time.
• Own the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements and present them to the CEO and board.
• Manage the accounting team and external partners, setting standards and deadlines.
• Establish accounting policies, internal controls and reporting standards appropriate to the company’s stage.
• Oversee multi‑entity accounting, consolidation, audit management and US tax compliance.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and reporting to leadership and investors.
• Manage cash position, runway, working capital and banking relationships.
• Lead finance systems roadmap, ERP selection and process design to support scaling.

Required profile

• 7+ years progressive finance and accounting experience, including 3+ years leading a finance or accounting team.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 842 and ASC 718.
• Proven ownership of the close and financial statements on an independent basis.
• Experience working remotely with US‑based leadership, auditors and CPA firms.
• Strong written and verbal English, able to present to boards and investors.
• Based in LATAM with sufficient overlap with US business hours.

Required skills

• ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct or QuickBooks Online.
• Finance tooling like Ramp, Brex, Bill.com, Rippling, Gusto, Carta or FloQast.
• Multi‑entity accounting and consolidation.
• Cash forecasting, liquidity management and runway planning.
