Lead Project Manager – Construction & Execution

About the role

BHP Chile is seeking a Lead Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of construction strategies for new facilities and processes. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with quality and regulatory requirements, supporting the company’s sustainable mining vision.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor HSE compliance and apply appropriate methodologies to deliver effective construction projects.
• Develop and manage the construction execution plan, including scope, resources, sequencing, budget, and schedule.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring alignment with BHP risk frameworks.
• Define project objectives, critical activities, and monitor progress against schedules.
• Coordinate integrated deliverables and manage stakeholder interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct risk assessments, report on risk status, and implement corrective actions to protect safety and value.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and ensure accurate performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale construction or mining projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, risk management, and project governance.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and interfacing skills.
• Track record of delivering projects that meet safety, quality, cost, and timeline targets.
