Leading Bridge Construction Specialist

About the role

COWI is seeking an experienced Leading Bridge Construction Specialist to join the RyQ‑COWI North America consortium on the Chacao Channel Bridge project in Chile. Based on‑site in the Los Lagos region, you will supervise the construction of the main suspension cables, deck hangers and orthotropic superstructure deck, ensuring quality and safety for this landmark infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct daily bridge construction inspection activities, maintaining close liaison with the contractor.
• Conduct and coordinate daily site inspections, reviewing construction progress and leading a team of on‑site Inspection Engineers.
• Assign, coordinate and review technical submissions, working with engineering experts to resolve construction issues.
• Develop practical solutions for on‑site challenges and coordinate required engineering input.
• Oversee preparation of inspection reports and communicate results to COWI’s Chief Construction Engineer.
• Mentor and develop other construction service staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by project leadership.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in bridge construction, inspection, or related civil engineering fields.
• Proven ability to interface with clients and contractors and to lead on‑site engineering teams.
