Maintenance Engineer – BESS & Solar Projects

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and performance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and photovoltaic solar plants in Antofagasta. The role involves planning, executing and monitoring maintenance activities while responding quickly to operational incidents under a 5‑day on‑site schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for BESS and solar PV systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify reliability improvement opportunities and drive operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with operations, technical teams and external service providers to resolve incidents and system faults promptly.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety, regulatory and company standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and documentation in the CMMS.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives to optimise maintenance processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in maintenance engineering or operations within renewable‑energy projects, preferably solar PV and/or BESS.
• Knowledge of energy storage systems, photovoltaic plants or power‑system maintenance.
• Strong problem‑solving and incident‑management abilities.
• Intermediate English for daily communication with the Chinese team.
• Current residence in Antofagasta and availability to work a 5‑day on‑site schedule.
