Mechanical Engineer Lead / Supervisor

About the role

This position is responsible for mechanical equipment packages on mining projects, providing strong management and leadership in interdisciplinary meetings with clients and plant equipment suppliers. The role ensures validation and review of optimal technical solutions while coordinating with other disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical equipment and systems for mining projects, including water, slurry, solvent pumps, distribution networks, pneumatic transport, and material handling.
• Perform calculations and analyses to generate technical design recommendations for equipment sizing and selection.
• Prepare material requisitions, specifications, data sheets, and other procurement documentation.
• Lead and participate in supplier evaluations and technical bid assessments.
• Coordinate with mechanical designers to produce drawings that comply with project standards.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and company departments to align mechanical engineering efforts.

Required profile

• Strong management capabilities and proven leadership experience in mechanical engineering projects.
• Experience delivering technical solutions in mining or related heavy‑industry environments.
• Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
