PD&P Engineer – Mining & Metals

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a PD&P Engineer to support its Mining & Metals projects in Santiago. The role focuses on developing technical specifications, selecting piping materials and valves, and ensuring compliance with industry codes for critical mineral extraction facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and review technical specifications for piping systems.
• Coordinate valve and piping component selection, reviewing vendor drawings.
• Perform pipe wall thickness and branch connection calculations according to ANSI/ASME codes.
• Prepare material take‑offs, requisitions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in bid evaluation, supplier offer review, and award recommendations.
• Use Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) for design and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the mining and metals industry.
• Strong understanding of piping engineering practices and ANSI/ASME code compliance.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast‑paced project environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
