Phoenix Developer (Remote)

About the role

Join BairesDev’s global team as a Phoenix Developer, building high‑performance, concurrent backend systems for leading tech clients. You will work remotely, leveraging functional programming to create scalable, real‑time applications using the Elixir ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services with Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Implement efficient data layers, manage migrations, and optimize storage using Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Build real‑time, interactive features for modern web applications using Phoenix LiveView.
• Develop fault‑tolerant distributed systems employing OTP patterns and GenServers.
• Maintain high code quality and system performance through functional programming best practices.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on functional programming.
• Proven expertise in building real‑time, concurrent backends using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and persistence with Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Deep understanding of OTP patterns, GenServers, and distributed system design.
• Experience delivering fault‑tolerant applications on the Erlang VM (BEAM).
• Advanced proficiency in English.
