Principal Agentic Engineer (Back-end)

About the role

As a Principal Agentic Engineer (Back‑end) you will lead the design and delivery of high‑performance, cloud‑native backend systems that power AI‑driven digital products for top consumer and entertainment brands. You will work closely with clients, product, and UX teams to translate loosely defined goals into robust, production‑grade solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of scalable, secure backend services using Python and modern cloud‑native patterns.
• Define spec‑driven requirements and translate product backlogs into detailed implementation plans for coding agents.
• Coordinate teams of AI coding agents to deliver engineering requirements on schedule.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for frontend, mobile, and third‑party integrations.
• Build AI‑powered backend components such as vector stores, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines, and integrations with LLMs (e.g., Gemini, Claude, GPT‑4/5).
• Develop and maintain infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI and Google Gen AI APIs.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across complex projects.

Required profile

• Proven senior technical leadership at Staff or Lead level with end‑to‑end delivery of complex software initiatives.
• Ability to work autonomously, turning ambiguous goals into well‑architected, shipped solutions.
• Strong communication skills for client‑facing interactions and cross‑functional collaboration.
