Project Estimator (Part‑time, Hybrid)

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Project Estimator to lead a team in developing cost estimates for mining and metals projects. The role is part‑time telework with a hybrid schedule that requires at least three days per week on‑site in Santiago.

Key responsibilities

• Lead estimate development for projects with low to moderate financial or reputational risk.
• Develop, present, and maintain Project Estimate Plans and schedules.
• Monitor progress and oversee the overall estimate development process.
• Create estimate review and basis packages in accordance with approved procedures.
• Prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost‑quantity comparisons.
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor cost and price data, generating comparative metrics and historical cost benchmarks.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary estimating team.
• Strong technical leadership in proposal development, strategic planning, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Commitment to delivering estimates within scope, at low cost, and aligned with budgetary targets.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule with at least three on‑site days per week.
