Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

About the role

ON.energy is looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to lead the design, build, and operation of secure, scalable AWS environments. You will work autonomously, drive architecture decisions, and partner with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure platform reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and continuously optimize AWS infrastructure using IaC tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
• Own AWS networking architecture, including VPC design, subnet strategy, routing, VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and PrivateLink.
• Architect and support hybrid and multi‑account AWS environments at scale.
• Diagnose and resolve complex networking issues and drive CI/CD automation initiatives.
• Monitor, tune, and cost‑optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and availability.
• Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with AWS security best practices and maintain technical documentation and architectural diagrams.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
• Proven ability to work independently, lead projects end‑to‑end, and make architecture decisions.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, Route 53, S3, RDS, CloudWatch.
• Infrastructure as Code: CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform.
• Advanced networking: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, CIDR design, subnetting, routing, firewalls, load balancing, VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink.
• Multi‑account AWS management (AWS Organizations, cross‑account access).
• Linux systems administration.
• CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Performance monitoring, cost optimization, incident response, and documentation.
