Senior Back-End Software Engineer

About the role

XeXe is rebuilding the platform that powers cross‑border payments for SMEs and consumers. We are looking for a senior back‑end engineer to own end‑to‑end solutions that move money, design APIs, model data, and ensure production reliability. You will work closely with product, compliance and operations teams in a small, high‑impact environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services that handle onboarding, KYC/KYB, payment initiation, FX, settlement and balance management.
• Lead cross‑functional delivery from problem definition through launch, collaborating with product, compliance and operations.
• Own the architecture and technical direction of your domain, conduct design reviews and mentor mid‑level engineers.
• Maintain production health, including observability, on‑call rotation and incident response.
• Modernize legacy services using agentic coding tools and partner with architects on cross‑domain decisions.

Required profile

• 6‑10+ years of experience building production‑grade backend services.
• Strong expertise in C#/.NET; experience with other OOP languages (Java, Kotlin, Go) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, Lambda) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record of technical leadership, design reviews and architecture decisions.
• Experience in payments, FX or other regulated industries is desirable.
