Senior Engineering Project Manager (Mining)

About the role

Brunel is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead the engineering delivery of a major mining and metallurgical process facilities project. The role starts in the engineering offices in Santiago, Chile and later rotates to the El Abra site, following an eight‑week on‑site and two‑week off schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for detailed engineering and execution phases, reporting to the Project Director.
• Develop and review engineering work packages (EWPs) with the technology provider.
• Manage scope, cost, schedule, safety and quality throughout the project life‑cycle.
• Monitor technical performance, track deliverables and ensure robust QA/QC processes.
• Coordinate with site leadership, health & safety teams and internal stakeholders to align execution with operational expectations.
• Lead design reviews, schedule development and change management to minimise cost and schedule impacts.
• Prepare inputs for monthly project reports covering design progress, cost and risk.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale engineering projects in the mining or process industries.
• Strong understanding of engineering work package creation and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to control scope, cost, schedule and quality.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.
