Site Manager – Construction

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Site Manager to lead field engineering activities on a complex mining and metals project in Santiago. The role combines team leadership, technical oversight, and coordination of construction engineering functions to ensure safe, on‑time, and high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide field engineering leadership for work planning, packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety, and quality control.
• Coordinate technical inspection, testing, system turnover, and subcontract activities.
• Act as Project Field Engineer on first‑of‑a‑kind jobs, interfacing with all site sections.
• Develop and recommend staffing plans, direct construction engineering staff, and approve staffing requisitions.
• Design temporary construction facilities and oversee material logistics.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction engineering teams on large‑scale mining or metals projects.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to develop staffing plans, conduct competency assessments, and provide feedback.
• Excellent communication and coordination with project engineers and subcontractors.
