Sr Analyst, Cost Accounting

About the role

The Senior Analyst, Cost Accounting will lead cost and inventory accounting functions, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. Reporting to the Manager of Cost Accounting, this position provides strategic financial insight to support manufacturing performance and compliance with GAAP and SOX.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, cost roll management, account reconciliations, and physical inventory oversight while maintaining GAAP and SOX compliance (35%).
• Manage month‑end close, analyze COGP, COGS, inventory, manufacturing variances, and profitability trends, delivering actionable insights to leadership (30%).
• Provide forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and business analysis to improve operational and financial performance (20%).
• Drive process improvements, strengthen financial systems and controls, enhance reporting processes, ensure data integrity, support audit compliance, and coach finance staff (15%).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to senior executives.
• Analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, and results‑oriented strategic thinking.

Required skills

• Oracle or similar ERP/EDW systems.
• Advanced Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros).
• Microsoft Access.
• Proficiency with the core MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Explorer).
