Staff Accountant

About the role

Murex, a global fintech leader, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Finance Department in Santiago, Chile. Reporting to the Americas Accounting Manager in New York, you will support accounting and administration activities across the Latam region, contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process reimbursable employee expenses.
• Manage vendor invoices, ensuring correct coding, tax treatment, and purchase‑order compliance.
• Generate and track purchase order numbers as needed.
• Execute period‑end closing tasks, including general ledger entries.
• Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure complete transaction recording for monthly closes.
• Prepare annual closing documentation in coordination with the Accounting Manager and Financial Controller, following auditors’ requirements.
• Maintain compliance with group timelines and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a multinational or regional shared‑services environment.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accounts payable processes, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• High proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables) and MS Office.
• Detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills.
