Superintendent A – Construction Supervision

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Superintendent A to lead on‑site construction activities at the Escondida mining complex. The role involves supervising superintendents, craft professionals and subcontractors to ensure safe, on‑schedule delivery of critical infrastructure for mineral production.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise craft activities, subordinate superintendents and subcontractors.
• Develop and manage work schedules, reviewing daily progress against plans.
• Determine workforce requirements and coordinate operational plans for each area.
• Oversee tool and equipment usage, ensuring availability of necessary resources.
• Prepare and manage Field Material Requisitions for tools, consumables and supplies.
• Verify that the latest design documents are used and that any design changes receive proper approval before implementation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Manage demolition subcontractors, waste handling, traffic and logistics on the site.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading construction teams on large‑scale mining or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, site logistics and subcontractor management.
• Ability to interpret design documents and enforce compliance with engineering specifications.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders.
