About the role

The laboratory technician will perform the processing of conventional cytology and body fluid samples to enable timely, accurate diagnoses. The role follows defined procedures and standards to ensure reliable results.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register, and manage client samples in the laboratory information system while adhering to lab protocols.
• Perform Papanicolaou stains, biopsies, and special staining techniques.
• Prepare surgical specimens for inclusion, including labeling, numbering, and following inclusion protocols.
• Classify, label, and dispatch processed samples for review by pathologists and cytologists.
• Store and safeguard slides and blocks for future reference.
• Handle and dispose of biological material in compliance with established regulations.

Required profile

• Student of Bioanalysis or a related laboratory program.
• Basic knowledge of general laboratory practices.
