Acquisition Editor – Life Sciences

About the role

JoVE, a leading producer of science video solutions, is looking for an Acquisition Editor focused on Life Sciences. In this position you will drive the recruitment of new authors and oversee the creation of special Methods Collections for the JoVE Journal.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and recruit new authors, guiding them through the manuscript submission process.
• Contact potential Guest Editors and collaborate to build Methods Collections, JoVE’s version of special issues.
• Establish and maintain a strong network of scientists and journal authors to increase submission rates.
• Work with the peer‑review team to facilitate manuscript publication.
• Meet or exceed monthly acquisition targets.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in the Life Sciences.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication.
• Results‑driven with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organisational, influencing and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with the publishing process is a plus.
