Assistant Maintenance Services Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Maintenance Services Manager with a focus on water systems to support safe, reliable water services at University Hospital Monklands. This hands‑on operational role involves coordinating trade teams, overseeing planned preventative maintenance and ensuring compliance documentation is up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal trade teams and external contractors on‑site, ensuring activities are safe and well‑planned.
• Support delivery of water‑related maintenance tasks and compliance activities, including accurate record keeping and reporting.
• Monitor work standards, raise concerns early and escalate when necessary.
• Assist with audits and inspections, keeping documentation ready and accurate.
• Drive improvements in service planning, action tracking and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Practical, operational mindset with pride in keeping systems safe and organised.
• Relevant technical background in estates, maintenance or building services (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working with water systems and supporting compliance activity.
• Confidence in managing contractors and monitoring standards of work.
• Organised approach to records, reporting and inspections.
• Ability to spot issues early and escalate appropriately.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative professional attitude.
• Full UK driving licence.
