Co-Teacher Primary (Elementary 1st Grade)

About the role

The Elementary Co‑Teacher Primary role is focused on delivering high‑quality teaching and learning experiences for 1st‑grade students. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom where children can develop academically, socially and emotionally while building foundational literacy, numeracy and critical‑thinking skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver age‑appropriate lessons in line with the school curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and safe classroom environment that meets diverse learning needs.
• Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support different learning styles.
• Assess, record and report student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Develop and maintain classroom routines that promote respect, responsibility and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff and school leadership to enhance the educational experience.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent‑teacher conferences and school events.
• Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or licensure for the relevant region.
• Previous experience teaching elementary‑aged children (1–3 years preferred).
• Experience working with diverse learners and adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
