Commercial Finance Manager

About the role

The Commercial Finance Manager (CFM) partners with the Sales organization to shape commercially competitive and financially sound offers for large‑scale energy and renewable projects. The CFM ensures that each opportunity complies with Fluence’s governance, financial objectives, and risk management standards throughout the bid, approval, and contracting phases.

Key responsibilities

• Support Sales teams in managing commercial and financial aspects of customer opportunities during bidding and contracting.
• Structure offers that optimize margin, cash flow, payment milestones, securities, credit instruments, insurance requirements, and overall project profitability.
• Prepare, consolidate, and present commercial approval packages, financial analyses, pricing assumptions, and risk summaries for internal governance and executive sign‑off.
• Identify, evaluate, and help mitigate contractual, financial, commercial, and operational risks associated with customer transactions.
• Coordinate commercial review of contractual requirements with Legal and Lead Negotiators to align with Fluence’s risk profile.
• Support customer negotiations on commercial and financial matters and ensure a smooth hand‑over to Project Execution after contract award.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes, governance frameworks, and financial risk management practices.

Required profile

• Strong commercial and financial background with experience on large, complex projects.
• Prior exposure to Energy, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, EPC, or Oil & Gas sectors.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with Sales, Legal, Treasury, Tax, Insurance, Supply Chain, and Project Execution teams.
• Excellent analytical, risk‑assessment, and presentation skills.
