Cost Accounting & Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Accounting and Finance Manager to lead our accounting, inventory, and financial control functions in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The role combines strategic financial analysis with hands‑on management of cost systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX while delivering actionable insights to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial controls including standard costing, inventory valuation, cost roll management, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee physical inventory processes and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
• Manage month‑end close, analyze COGP, COGS, manufacturing variances, profitability trends and provide performance insights.
• Drive forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting and business analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen financial systems, and support audit compliance.
• Coach and develop finance staff, enhancing reporting accuracy and data integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (advanced degree or CPA preferred).
• Minimum 7 + years of relevant professional experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting to senior executives.
• Results‑oriented strategic thinker who challenges the status quo.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle or other ERP/EDW systems.
• Advanced Excel and Access skills.
• Working knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Explorer).
• Experience in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial reporting.
• Ability to conduct detailed data analysis and support audit processes.
