Design Systems Designer – Remote (LATAM)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency creates websites and marketing programs for US clients. As a Design Systems Designer you will own the creation of client‑specific design systems, turning brand guidelines and reference sites into reusable token architectures, component libraries and pipelines that work without further input. This senior, systems‑first position focuses on building robust, scalable systems rather than one‑off pages or maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes and semantic naming that can be read predictably by the build pipeline.
• Ship core component libraries that function across entire sites, not just homepages.
• Document design systems so developers or automated pipelines can execute them without questions.
• Manage multiple client brands simultaneously, applying the same structural rigor while preserving distinct visual identities.

Required profile

• 4+ years of web design experience with proven design‑system work in a portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto‑layout and variants, with a focus on architecture rather than tidy files.
• Portfolio demonstrating varied client work underpinned by consistent design‑system rigor.
• Strong English proficiency and ability to overlap with US business hours.
