Desktop Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems and networks across our sites. The role involves providing first‑level support, training users, and ensuring the IT infrastructure operates efficiently and securely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide desktop computer support and resolve hardware/software issues.
• Troubleshoot networking problems, including LAN, VLAN, and WAN connectivity.
• Handle computer and equipment movements within the building.
• Manage inventory of IT assets and configure phones.
• Develop internal tools to improve processes and evaluate new IT solutions.
• Respond to outages and follow established incident procedures.
• Perform first‑level support for local Fortinet network infrastructure.
• Maintain structured cabling, including crimping, patch‑panel organization, and rack management.
• Assist senior network engineers with complex firewall or switch configurations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (at least 40% completed).
• Minimum of one year of professional IT experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and PCI standards.
• English proficiency of at least 80%.
• Flexibility to move between sites and adapt to varying schedules.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.

• Fortinet firewall and networking equipment.
• LAN, VLAN, WAN technologies.
• Microsoft Windows operating system.
• MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ISO 27001 and PCI compliance knowledge.
• Structured cabling, basic crimping, and patch‑panel management.
• Phone configuration and troubleshooting.
• Network troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, IP verification).
