Development Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

As a Development Manager at Akuo Energy, you will work closely with the Country Manager and the Project Management Team to drive the development of utility‑scale solar, wind and storage projects. You will be responsible for taking projects from initial opportunity through permitting, community engagement and financing.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new renewable‑energy opportunities, leading negotiations with landowners, PPAs and other asset agreements.
• Develop, monitor and update business plans, development budgets and project schedules.
• Coordinate all activities required to obtain grid connection, environmental and other regulatory permits.
• Lead community engagement, public meetings and presentations to build local support.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local development processes and electricity regulations.
• Foster strong relationships with local authorities, utilities and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in renewable‑energy project development, preferably at utility scale.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects across multiple disciplines.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with landowners, authorities and partners.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of local permitting processes and electric regulations.
• Experience negotiating power purchase agreements and land contracts.
• Ability to prepare and present technical and financial project documentation.
