Economic Statistics Intern

About the role

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Statistics Division in Santiago. This 2‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in economic data analysis, contributing to research on the relevance of official statistics for democracy.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes.
• Support preparation of external sector reports, including balance of payments, trade statistics, and national accounts.
• Contribute to the maintenance and organization of statistical databases.
• Collaborate on special projects or ad‑hoc tasks related to economic statistics.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree, master’s or Ph.D. program (minimum bachelor’s degree).
• Field of study related to commercial engineering or economics.
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and proficiency in English.
• Ability to provide official proof of enrollment or degree.
