Engineering Team Lead

About the role

Bradken is looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to head its Santiago‑based Product and Engineering team supporting mineral processing and mining customers across the region. The role combines technical leadership, customer interaction and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver safe, manufacturable and commercially valuable engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Chile engineering team.
• Set technical priorities, allocate resources and oversee delivery across engineering projects.
• Work directly with customers to understand site challenges and define suitable solutions.
• Guide product design, field trials, validation, implementation and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical analysis, performance reviews and warranty presentations.
• Support business development, technical proposals and customer contracts in partnership with Sales and Marketing.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain to commercialise products.
• Contribute to regional and global engineering initiatives, including composite and cast product development and standardisation.
• Deliver technical training to engineering, sales teams and customers.
• Ensure compliance with Bradken’s safety, quality, engineering and intellectual property requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in design engineering, product development or technical support within mining.
• Proven experience leading and developing engineers or other technical professionals.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing equipment, mining consumables and wear products.
• Experience developing and implementing products, conducting field trials and resolving technical issues on‑site.
• Ability to link engineering decisions with customer value and commercial outcomes.
• Experience working across Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing and Operations.
• Strong planning, project management and stakeholder management capability.
• Fluent Spanish and professional proficiency in English.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to customer and mine sites within Chile and the SAM region.
• Experience with composite products, technical contracts or intellectual property management is advantageous.
• Post‑graduate qualifications in engineering or management are valued.
