External Affairs & Patient Advocacy Manager – Chile

About the role

The External Affairs & Patient Advocacy Manager will lead the design, coordination and execution of Johnson & Johnson's external affairs and patient advocacy strategy for Chile. Reporting to the External Affairs Director for J&J Latin America South, the role focuses on influencing public policy, regulatory and innovation‑access environments while integrating the patient voice into healthcare discussions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive external affairs and patient advocacy plan for the Chilean market.
• Anticipate, interpret and influence public policy, regulatory and institutional frameworks affecting healthcare.
• Strengthen J&J’s corporate reputation and build trusted relationships with government officials, patient groups, industry chambers, scientific societies and civil‑society organizations.
• Promote ethically‑aligned initiatives that transparently incorporate patient perspectives into relevant healthcare debates.
• Ensure all activities comply with local legislation, industry standards, J&J internal policies and the principles of the Credo.

Required profile

• Strategic vision with strong influencing and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Chilean political and healthcare landscape.
• Experience navigating compliance frameworks for interactions with government, patient associations and other external stakeholders.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively in both Spanish and English.
• Relevant academic background (e.g., public policy, health affairs, communications).
