GIS Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a GIS Analyst to support major mining and oil & gas projects by delivering spatial data solutions, analytics, and automation. You will join a high‑performing team of engineers, scientists and environmental specialists focused on sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate data and analytics reports for insights and reporting.
• Conduct spatial and non‑spatial data analysis, developing solutions using FME, Python, VBA and JavaScript.
• Maintain and upgrade geodetic and cartographic systems, coordinate geographical surveys and endorse base maps.
• Provide data‑management support, advise on system usage and lead automation and programming projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients to deliver deliverables, solutions and training.
• Participate in database design, implementation, policy enforcement and monitoring.
• Contribute to personal capability building and stay updated on technology, regulations and best practices.
• Follow health, safety and environment policies and support community of practice initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with FME.
• Programming in Python, VBA and JavaScript.
• Experience using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Spatial and non‑spatial data analysis.
• Database design and data‑management concepts.
