HSE Specialist

About the role

Fluence is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to join its Construction Management Team. The role provides technical HSE oversight for construction projects, ensuring compliance with site‑specific health, safety and environmental plans and applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical advisor to the Construction Management Team, contractors and commissioning teams.
• Develop and implement solutions for site‑specific HSE issues.
• Monitor equipment, structures and work‑in‑progress to verify compliance with HSE plans, codes and standards.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified and enforce corrective actions before work resumes.
• Conduct daily and weekly safety walks, provide feedback, and establish inspection schedules with contractors.
• Design and deliver H&S and environmental orientation sessions and maintain training records.
• Plan and coordinate training programs related to construction phase HSE requirements.
• Ensure industrial hygiene and environmental monitoring are performed and instrumentation is maintained.
• Lead root‑cause‑analysis investigations of near‑misses, incidents and unsafe conditions, and compile analysis reports.
• Participate in contractor tailboard meetings, pre‑job briefings and JSA reviews, and lead weekly safety meetings.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in health, safety and environmental management on construction sites.
• Ability to work independently, resolve issues and make informed decisions.
• Willingness to travel and work remotely as project support demands.
• Strong communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
