HSSEQ Leader

About the role

Kapsch is seeking an experienced HSSEQ Leader to join its Chilean operations. The role combines occupational health and safety expertise with responsibility for implementing and maintaining HSSEQ processes, ensuring local certification compliance, and coordinating the local team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain OH&S policies, procedures and documentation in line with legal requirements.
• Identify risks, define preventive measures and ensure safe working conditions.
• Drive compliance with HSSEQ standards, monitor KPIs, manage non‑conformities and lead corrective/preventive actions.
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, and perform inspections and on‑site controls.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and deviations, and implement actions to improve prevention.
• Provide technical support to operations and projects on safety, quality and process matters.
• Identify training needs and promote a preventive, quality‑driven culture.
• Manage the integrated HSSEQ system, including documentation, audits, reviews and change management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a prevention role, preferably in ITS or a similar industry.
• Demonstrated team‑leadership with a hands‑on approach.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Prevention Engineering meeting Chilean SUSESO requirements.
• Experience in planning, monitoring and resource management.
• Experience in internal auditing for ISO 9001.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Desirable experience with ISO 45001, quality management and process improvement.
